us humans ...
... created in the image of God.. created to rule over every living creatures that move on this earth.. the most intellectual beings that solved even life's most difficult challenges (over the ages) from "self-run" flintstone-mobile to automobile; from pigeon-communication to telephone.. who went through good education.. yet we may not be as wise as we seem...
have you stop to wonder why some people wash their hair with hair conditioner only later to apply hair gel? or why they spend money on food but spend even more money on taking slimming pills? or why do people burn paper money that print "bank of hell" to their deceased when they also pay good money for the monks to pray for the deceased to go heaven? are we being double-minded or just following blindly what other intellectual beings were doing? James wrote: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."are we double minded christians who appear to have faith & believe in God but our lives & actions contradict that of what the Bible says? are we "luke warmers"?

Luke warmers?! We might be even worst, we are people with little faith and convictions. We are double minded because we are always battling between our canal and spiritual being. Act of the Evil ones or simply our ignorance can deceive our thoughts.
We tend to do things our way, with our own logic and it often contradicts us. As stated in 3Notes entry: "spend money on food but spend even more money on taking slimming pills" Realize the constant trend of self-contradictions that lead to failure. Us human, FAIL. But it's important to identify the different responds towards failure. E.g. Judas & Peter
Judas, one who thinks he failed as a PERSON (betrayal of Christ) ran AWAY from God.
Peter, most beloved disciple. One who thinks he failed on the EVENT (denial of Christ) He ran BACK to God when he saw the fires of coal, which Jesus has prepared, and breakfast for them. Are we the ones who run back to our old self (which in this case, Peter went back fishing) or do we run back to God?
(Context inspires by John 21:15-19)
Notice the 2 different end results. Judas gave up on life, Peter gave in to God and had a new transformed life. Living victoriously! We can have the ability to Persevere, to believe and to move on in every situtation, even at times when we think we failed. It's just a time out for us to ran back to God. =)

I believe there is a cost for everything we do or desire, or even sacrifice, for our wants, of which we may try ways to reduce its impact.
We want to be “IN” like the others. We color our hair, knowingly that it will spoil our hair texture, and later spend money to go for series of hair treatment; some wants to keep a healthy life-style by taking pills, but reluctant to drink basic 8 glasses of water a day; some spent their whole life working hard for the money, but end up paying for their piles of medical bills. As for some, they want their non-Christian friends or relatives to be saved, and yet spend most of their time with their Christian friends. I am not saying the above are wrong. But they are facts of life we need to deal with daily.
But if you ask me is there a contradiction? Sure there is!!! Are we double-minded? Sure we are! Christian or no Christian, we are all the same! ‘Cause we are made from flesh and blood, and we live in this world! We are not SAINT, we are not HOLY MAN, we are just whom God has made us to be- human! We are intelligent, not stupid, but we are just plain stubborn and hard-hearted, we refuse to accept the truth, we refuse to see things in the eyes of God (am talking Jesus Christ our God here, not any other gods). We refuse to believe, and we refuse to endure with what we have believed and persevere on, though we know that God is always by our side to help us through. It is the level of this believe and trust that makes all of us different. Many times we even try to deceive ourselves knowingly or unknowingly, trying to cover the truth that is underlying.
How do we conquer the contradictions? I would say by being honest to yourself and God, having all ears and eyes open to receive wisdom, which you need to constantly ask.
Jesus said, "For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear." (Matt.13:15-16)
Always stay focus on this race of life!
Yes we were created in the image of GOD, first without sin, but Adam changed the whole course of history by eating from the tree of knowledge and evil.
Perhaps Adam and Eve felt that they could be independent of GOD, once they gain knowledge of good and evil and make decisions on their own without seeking GOD.
But History has also proven Man without GOD are lost and often without purpose. With vast scientific advancement, we have been attempting to play GOD, tempering with genetics, DNA, cloning and so on. Do human think that they could do a better job than GOD Himself just like Bruce Almighty? Having a good education and gaining earthly knowledge could instead work against us. Knowledge should have bring us closer to GOD, making us understand how complex things are and realise that only an awesome creator, GOD could have done that. Plants are a net consumer of carbon dioxide and producing oxygen in return during the day, Human consumes oxygen and produces carbon dioxide in return. Coincidence? Anyone who study biology would know how intricate and complex our body is. Only GOD alone, creator of earth and heaven could have such power and wisdom to create us living creatures with breath from dust.
We want to satisfy our taste buds but fear of putting on weight. We want the best of both world and the easy way out. Start popping slimming pills as a short cut to slimming.
Others are easily swayed by the words of other man, praying to false idols which promises fortune, immortal life...... Ahhh excuse me the idol is carved by your fellow man so what supernatural power could it provide?
To end.... I am a young Christian. I have been tested many times and I do failed at times. My journey on earth is only a blip on the timeline of eternity. I know it is not going to be an easy path, but if it is easy, what joy or satisfaction could you derive? Despite my occasional lapse, being lukewarm to GOD or being double minded I want to run a good race for it is worth it living for GOD.
