Yum Cha
My 2nd Yum Cha in Melbourne! Only this time, it was with a different mix of people - Betty, Margaret, Courtney, Hazel, John & Breana...
Betty - who used to work with my dad in Singapore many years ago, now a PR in Australia, paralyzed by cancer & is wheel chair bound. Margaret - a carer who attends to the needs of Betty every morning & evening. Courtney - grand daughter of Margaret. Hazel - whom i've met in Manningham Christian Centre, gave up Singapore citizenship to become a citizen of Australia. John - Hazel's friend, a full time worker with Salvation Army in Melbourne. Breana - just came to Melbourne, doing her postgraduate course on Genetic Counselling with Melbourne Uni.
From all walks of life, we came together last Sunday afternoon to celebrate CNY over Yum Cha. Some pictures taken for your viewing at "My Photos". Unfortunately, Breana's photo was not there... We're suppose to take one but what happened? Hmmm... perhaps we were too engrossed in the food... =P Next time, Breana - we must take a picture together!
Behind the calm pictures of this Yum Cha occasion, was an unforgettable journey. The journey - from Salvation Army in Melbourne City after Sunday Church service to my apartment where i picked up my digital camera to Betty's house in Canterbury & finally to Han Palace in Vermont South for Yum Cha - which Breana & i embarked on that sunny day.
My mission is to fetch Betty for the Yum Cha appointment, where we'll meet Margaret, Courtney, Hazel & John @ 1pm. With time pressing in on us, i thought it would be faster to take the freeway instead of the usual long route to Betty's house - which is true! Problem is, i'm not sure which exit to take to get us there... In the end, we were lost, somehow ended up on the same long route & 40min late - worst off than had i taken the usual route!
Betty was quite upset & our drive from her place to Yum Cha wasn't that pleasant either... She was stressed up, she stressed me up & i guess Breana was also under stress just by sitting in the back seat. Hee! Finally, the journey ended when we parked the car outside Han Palace, apologized to our guests for being late, had our 1st plate of Tim Sum... What a relieved!
Lesson learnt: NEVER ever "gey kiang" (act smart) & try new route when rushing for time!
